Prof. Dr. Klaus-J. Schmidt, is director of the Institute for production and logistic systems (IPL), of the FITT and President of the AKJ Automotive. He is responsible for R&D, technology transfer and reorganization and optimization of production, logistics, quality and Research & Development projects. At the University of Applied Sciences of Saarland he is responsible for bachelor and master programs in production economy, logistics and informatics.
Prof. Schmidt is integrated in many re-organization and optimization projects of car manufacturers and suppliers. Besides he is active in advisory boards and supervisory boards of different companies of the automobile industry. Prof. Schmidt has studied energy technology, electronics, informatics and business management and before his professorship at University he worked as a development engineer, manager and consultant.
