After studying industrial engineering in Karlsruhe, he started his career in the logistics of Volkswagen. In the past he was as a manager responsible for program planning of component plants within the Volkswagen brand.
Thereafter he was the responsible manager for material control and component supply in the Volkswagen plant in Wolfsburg. In his current position he is responsible for planning and steering the transport networks within the Volkswagen Group.
